Hire React Native Developers

Add senior, pre-vetted React Native developers to your mobile team — shipping iOS and Android from a single TypeScript codebase, managed by you. Devs-Hive handles recruitment, employment and retention.

How do you hire React Native developers?

To hire React Native developers, be explicit about how much native work the app needs, review pre-vetted candidates against that, interview your shortlist and onboard the ones you choose — typically within one to two weeks. The screening question that matters is not JavaScript; it is whether the developer can open the Xcode and Android Studio projects when the JavaScript layer runs out of answers. With Devs-Hive the developers work exclusively on your app and are managed by you, while we employ them and handle payroll, taxes and retention.

What a React Native developer covers

The job is wider than screens. This is the scope we expect a mid-level or senior React Native developer to hold on a live product.

  1. Cross-platform feature work. Screens, navigation, forms, offline behaviour and state — written once in TypeScript and shipped to both stores from a single codebase.
  2. Native modules and bridging. Swift and Kotlin modules for hardware, SDKs and platform APIs that have no maintained JavaScript wrapper, exposed cleanly to the React Native side.
  3. Performance on real devices. Fixing dropped frames in long lists, oversized bundles, slow cold starts and memory growth — measured on mid-range Android hardware, not only on the newest iPhone.
  4. Upgrades and the new architecture. Moving an app forward across React Native versions, and onto Fabric and TurboModules, without leaving the product frozen for a quarter.
  5. Release and over-the-air updates. Store submissions, review rejections, phased rollouts, and shipping JavaScript-only fixes over the air without waiting on another review cycle.
  6. Crash and analytics plumbing. Sentry or Crashlytics wired to readable source maps, plus the event tracking your product team actually asked for, so a spike in crashes points at a line of code.

Choosing React Native over the alternatives

React Native earns its place when the two apps are supposed to behave the same and the interface is built from lists, forms, detail screens and navigation — which describes most business apps. You fund one team, specify each feature once, and release to both stores on the same day. It earns its place twice over when you already have a React web front end, because types, validation rules and API clients are shared rather than re-implemented by a separate mobile team who interpret the spec slightly differently.

It is the wrong choice when the app is the platform experience: heavy graphics, continuous sensor work, deep widget and watch integration, or an interface deliberately designed to feel different on iOS and Android. Those apps end up with so much native code that the shared layer stops paying for itself. The honest version of the trade-off looks like this.

If you are still weighing the two cross-platform options, it is worth reading the same comparison from the other side on our Flutter developers page. And if the mobile app is one part of a larger build, the same engagement can include React developers on the web front end and Node.js developers on the API — through outstaffing if you want to manage everyone yourself, or as a dedicated team with its own lead if you would rather not.
